Located Our State Library
The State of Arizona Research Library’s Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) will be hosting live webcasts of presentations from the USPTO’s San Jose Regional Office.
For those unfamiliar, the USPTO established regional offices in Denver, Dallas, Detroit and San Jose to give inventors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses the added benefit of a USPTO presence in every U.S. time zone. One way the San Jose office is reaching Arizona, is by partnering with the Patent and Trademark Resource Center to livestream events held at the San Jose Office.
Webcasts are live onsite at the PTRC, located in the Polly Rosenbaum Archives and History Building, 1901 W. Madison St. Phoenix Arizona 85009.

Learn How to Draft Your Patent Claims
Friday, May 31st, 10 am – Noon
Claim drafting is perhaps the most important part of protecting your invention. Learn from the experts at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as they teach the basics of claim drafting through an interactive workshop. Attendees will learn about the importance of drafting claims to the success of a patent application, and will develop a better appreciation of how a patent examiner views a claim during the course of examination.
Attendees should have an intermediate knowledge of the intellectual property system, and patents specifically. It is recommended that attendees complete the previous sessions “Learn the basics of intellectual property with a focus on patents” and “Learn how to draft your patent application” before taking this workshop.
