Guest Speaker:
Aimee Carroll

Aimee Carroll, [email protected], from Edison Nation will present the 8-stages Edison Nation uses to get inventor ideas in front of companies for licensing opportunities and other opportunities for creative minds and innovators available from Edison Nation.  Aimee will discuss the process that their product review team expertly uses to evaluate each idea and design submission and how they pitch selected ideas to their partners. Also, she will mention the possible payout an innovator can receive if his/her product is licensed.

Ms. Carroll will  speak on how to submit ideas to their secure online portal and the various evaluation “stages” Edison Nation’s team uses and the related factors they consider including: • Competing Products • Uniqueness • Retail Pricing • Liability and Safety • Marketability • Manufacturing Cost • Patentability • Features/Benefits and Commercial-ability.  In addition, Aimee will discuss submitting just an idea, a sketch, a non-patented product or a patented product and if a patent and/or a prototype is actually needed.  Aimee said, “ I am excited to share the great opportunities Edison Nation offers to get ideas out of people’s heads and into the hands of a strong team for potential licensing opportunities which is not a financial risk to the inventor.”

Aimee said that Edison Nation’s product review process is confidential and under non-disclosure agreements with all of their licensing partners and is a no risk option for inventors who don’t want to go on a licensing journey alone.

Aimee Carroll is a leading team member with Edison Nation, Inc., a contributing member of the Inventor Advisory Board, and a member of the Edison Nation Leadership Team.  She founded Aspire Design & Innovations, LLC in 2014 to connect aspiring small businesses, entrepreneurs, and inventors with the people and resources needed to help them succeed.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing  and Advertising.

NOTE
The New Patent Law Has Problems For Inventors
Independent inventors and start-up’s depend on strong patents to defend their inventions, however recent changes to the patent law have significantly weakened inventor’s intellectual property rights to the point that they can no longer depend on their patents to protect their innovations.  For information on the intellectual property problems, please see the movie, Invalidated: The Shredding Of The US Patent System.  Click the below image for a trailer of the movie/documentary.   You can also see the documentary on Amazon and iTunes , free with Amazon Prime subscription, or $2 otherwise.
