THE INVENTORS ASSOCIATION
OF ARIZONA
MOVING FORWARD
THE IAA NEEDS YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!
As many of you know, our Inventors Association is one of the 14 founding members of a National Leadership Council on Innovation. This council was initiated by Stephen Key at InventRight and has now grown to over 40 inventors groups. We have been meeting over the past six months and gaining strength each month! The purpose of this council is to unite inventor organizations across our country to help all inventor groups grow and synchronize to help each other, as well as to strengthen our collective voice to be heard in Washington DC. Recently, we have formed an organization called Inventor Groups of America (IGA). You can find more information about it at www.inventleaders.org.
The IGA is gaining strength and now we have a voice that is being heard on Capitol Hill. This is the reason I need your help. The IGA has been invited to present our position on patent reform on the congressional floor in April! I will be sending more information on this later.
This will be a three day event (April 17-19), starting with a tour of the USPTO on Day One, a meeting with congressional leaders on Day Two, followed by a tour of the Lemelson Center for Innovation at the Smithsonian on Day Three. The cost to send one member from each inventors organization is $1500. This will cover air fare, hotel and organized dinners. We will have local and national media coverage for this event. Press releases will be going out soon.
I am asking two things of our members to help send me or another representative to Washington DC to represent the Inventors Association of Arizona. First, I am looking for companies to approach to offer sponsorship toward this trip. In return, they will get logo signage on the IGA website and our website, be listed as a resource for inventors across the nation, as well as have other opportunities you can read more about on the IGA website. Can you please email me with contact information (name, email, address and phone if possible) of any contacts you have with a company that may be interested in getting exposure to inventors nationwide? If you don’t have the exact name of an individual to contact, please just send me your thoughts on companies you think may be interested. Please send this to me as soon as possible! Thanks so much!
Second, I set up a GoFundMe page so members and friends of the IAA can individually contribute to our collective cause. Even the smallest donations will be appreciated, but we are asking each member to contribute $20 if possible. Larger donations will certainly be appreciated too! The GoFundMe page is created in our non-profit 501c3 status, so your donations are tax deductible. You can find the GoFundMe page at :
Thanks everyone! Please share the GoFundMe page with your colleagues and friends on Facebook.
You are an awesome group!
See you at the next meeting.
