Publicity, Shark Tank Auditions & More

Publicity is probably the most important factor in determining a product’s probability of success as you will see further down but first, I have to say if you missed our last meeting, you missed a lot.

Our warm up speaker, Adrienne Mazzone of TransMedia Group gave us a comprehensive view of publicity and public relations including what her company can do for a new product. One of the opportunities she has for us is FREE radio time. At this point, I would normally refer you to a link on our website but unfortunately, we are having a bit of trouble with that. So instead if you want more information email me at [email protected] and I will send you the email she sent me. In the mean time you can check out the show at https://www.facebook.com/weinetwork/ .

Then Leigh Rothschild blew everyone out of the water with his back stage view of the high tech patent world and litigation. I think more than half the room was ready to march on Washington after he explained the perils of the PTAB and AIA.

Next month is going to be just as great. As a warm up, we have a member showing off some of his products as well as a product that I found that is quite interesting for a number of reasons. Not only will this be fun and educational but 2 … yes … 2 lucky door prize winners will walk away with the product that I found.

Our main speaker is going to be incredibly interesting. Joel Hartstone has had a remarkable career that you can see on his flyer posted on our website www.inventors-society.net . One of his accomplishments was a program called the One Day MBA. He will be doing a module from that program on marketing. I have seen the slides and it is intense but exactly what you need to succeed.

Member Susie Jaye sent us this open audition notice for Shark Tank. There will be one in Tampa but the date hasn’t been set. Also they are allowing email auditions.

Shark Tank

The producers of the ABC reality series Shark Tank are on a nationwide search to discover the next successful (and possibly wealthy) entrepreneurs, inventors, businesspersons, creators and innovators. In each episode, budding entrepreneurs are given the unprecedented chance to make their business grow immediately.

Whether you just have a fantastic idea, are a start up or already operating successfully and looking to expand, if you feel you have a lucrative business or product and could use financial backing, then Shark Tank is just the show for you. Casting is looking for entrepreneurs who can pitch their breakthrough business concepts, products, properties and services to moguls in hopes of landing investment funds. If selected, five self-made, brilliant but tough investors (the Sharks) could be willing to part with their own hard-earned cash to give you the funding you need to jumpstart your venture. But the Sharks aren’t just out to invest; they too have a goal — to own a piece.

Your business or product should be top-notch and something the Sharks will really want to sink their teeth into. It might even spark a bidding war between them. Who knows? You could be the fortunate entrepreneur who gets the Sharks to reveal their true level of interest and to bid up the price of your investment!

Apply now for your chance to enter the Shark Tank and see if your idea is good enough for a Shark investment.

There are two ways to apply.
1. Send us an email         http://abc.tv/2FZ5dW4
2. Attend an Open Call    http://abc.tv/2GxMvCC

Now I want you to know that some of those who did not get a deal on the show had tremendous success just from appearing on it. For example, the Sharks hated the Door Bot, the door bell that let you view who was at your door from your cell phone. Well, Amazon just bought the company for One BILLON Dollars. There is no better way to learn how to present then by watching others present to your target market. So if you are looking to get into the DRTV market, our friend David Woods, President of the ICCF, still has some tickets for the pitch event on 3/19/18. Full disclosure; I’m going. Go to http://bit.ly/2F3NoFt to sign up as a spectator.

There is no better way to get your product out there then through a YouTube video. Sure you still need a sell sheet but more and more everything is going internet. Long time member Robert Rock found this gem http://bit.ly/2IrLqNi it is a course by seven experts on how to do a great YouTube video but it is more than that. It is like an in depth study on internet marketing.

Did you ever find yourself thinking, Where can I find… ? Well, long time friend of the group Tim Kennedy sent me an unbelievable set of resources. It has everything you could possible need for a startup, all laid out by category such as education, launch, funding, success stories and much more. Just take a look here http://bit.ly/2DtFjEs

Now if I could just find enough hours in the day to take advantage of all this stuff.
