Just put together our first meeting of the year.
Monday Jan 14 at 7pm
At Community Savings Bank in Robins
Speaker will be Josh Malone, by Skype
He has been working hard in Washington to restore patent rights for inventors. Thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars invested in travel and other expense. We have met with staff, but to meet with lawmakers and get their support we need inventors from all 435 Congressional districts to sign up. January starts the new Congress and legislative cycle.
Will talk to us about this ——
Inventor Rights for the 116th U.S. Congress
A new Congress will convene in 3 weeks. Inventors don’t have professional lobbyists. We have only ourselves. Please sign the resolution and share it on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc. It is the only way to get the message out to the inventors that are desperate for protection for their inventions.
Summary of the Resolution
Our patent system is in crisis. Recent changes to patent laws and Supreme Court decisions have adversely affected inventors such that the requirement in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution of “securing for limited times to inventors the exclusive right to their discoveries” is no longer achieved. It is nearly impossible to stop an infringer from using an invention without permission, or to make them to pay for the damage caused when they do. The undersigned inventors call on Congress to pass legislation to address these critical issues.
The USPTO Must Stop Taking Back Patents From Inventors
Courts must prohibit the use of a patented invention without permission
Infringers must not profit by using an invention without permission
[Signatures of inventors from all 50 states, all 435 congressional districts]
As a reminder, there is a helpful (and shocking) documentary on these issues: Invalidated: The Shredding of the American Patent System. You should watch this, get it out to others, and get the link to your Representative. The full version is available now on Amazon and iTunes.
Most importantly, please sign the resolution and share it. Do this for us, for you, and for America. We have devoted thousands of hours and dozens of trips to Washington D.C. getting us to this point. We’ve never been this close to victory. We have a real opportunity to restore our rights as inventors in this next Congress. Let’s work together and finally win this battle!
