Changes At The Patent Office
What is patentable now? Why did they make changes?
What are patent trolls?
What is the PTAB?
How Does This Effect Me?
Keynote Speaker:
Alex Hobson, Patent Agent
Invention To Patent Services, LLC
Our December presentation will review the recent changes at the USPTO in product patentability and what is now deemed abstract art. A general overview of the requirements for a patent will be provided as well as examples of what is now deemed as not patentable under the current interpretation. Also, a historical look at the patent office’s attempts to combat “Patent Trolls” resulting in the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) will be discussed, as well as the various points of several bills that are being brought forth to congress to make some much needed changes.
