This interactive seminar will provide an overview of what a patent is, the different types of patents and the patent process. After an initial overview of patents types and various filing strategies, some specific examples of applications and how they were prosecuted to result in an issued patent will be discussed. Questions will be welcome throughout the seminar.   This presentation is ideal for small businesses wanting to build a valuable patent portfolio, individual inventors and those simply wanting to learn more about patents.

Alex Hobson
Alex Hobson is president and founder of Invention to Patent Services; a unique intellectual property service company focused on providing quality and affordable patent preparation and filing services. Invention to Patent Services focuses on helping individual inventors, small businesses, and especially start-up businesses, obtain strategically written patents at an affordable cost, typically a third or less that of law firms. Alex is a registered patent agent and has more than twenty-five years of experience in patent law. He has prepared more than 500 patents over the last 8 years. He prepares patents with strategies to provide clients the best opportunity to secure broad claim protection for their inventions. Alex is a board member of the Inventors Association of Arizona and has successfully written and prosecuted patents to allowance for a number of the members.
