July 2020
Inventors,
If you have any experience with Arizona’s State Library Patent & Resource Center, please read the request below.
Experiences and insights of current/prospective inventors with
Patent and Trademark Resource Centers (PTRC)
Have you ever visited PTRC to ask PTRC librarians questions about patents or to attend patent workshops/seminars?
Have you used any resources in the PTRC to apply for patents?
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR!
We are conducting a research study that examines how the opening of PTRCs affected local inventors in the community and their collaboration networks. The study will be conducted by the following researchers.
Researcher Information
Russell Funk – Assistant Professor, University of Minnesota
Maxim Sytch – Associate Professor, University of Michigan
Joe Pyung Nahm – Doctoral Student, University of Minnesota
Research Objectives
We are trying to learn about PTRCs from the perspectives of local inventors who utilize the resources from PTRC. At the end, we are planning on submitting this studies to top strategy and management journals like the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) and Administrative Science Quarterly (ASQ). Your insights and experiences would further enrich our understanding of the context.
Interview Logistics
If you choose to participate in this study, we will ask you some questions about your PTRC experiences. The interview will take about 30 minutes either via phone call or ZOOM. As compensation for interview time, we will give you $30 Amazon gift card. Our conversations would only be used for research purpose and we would maintain anonymity and confidentiality regarding your interview responses. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you can withdraw from the study anytime during the interview.
