Our September speaker, Gary Shuster, will be traveling from his home in Vancouver, BC to Phoenix to share with us his incredible expertise in the inventing process. Gary’s presentation will cover a vast amount of information from the very core of the innovative process that begins in our early childhood, to overcoming the limitations and rules we learn as adults that can impair the creativity we all have within us. Gary’s presentation will challenge your thinking and help you unleash the very bonds that may be holding you back from that critical level of creativity for advanced innovation. As Pablo Picasso famously said, “Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.” Innovation is no different.
Gary will also discuss our current weakened patent protection process. While the United States has spent the last decade limiting patent rights, China is rapidly moving to expand and strengthen protection for inventors. Gary will offer some unique ideas for some alternative pathways for protection such as utilizing Trade Secrets, PCT filing and some targeted national phase entries. Where there is a will, there is a way, right?
Gary’s presentation will be insightful, enlightening, inspiring and entertaining. Included in his presentation, Gary will discuss the Superpowers that innovators share:
· Superpower #1: Learn how to harness the creativity you were born with. Sayings like “don’t reinvent the wheel” and “think outside the box” may reflect an inner source that hinders your thinking.
· Superpower #2: Learn why the Imposter Syndrome is simultaneously the most powerful tool for the inventor and yet the strongest impairment to inventing.
· Superpower #3: Learn how the Subconscious Superpower seemingly makes innovative solutions come from nowhere
