The United States Patent and Trademark Office ( USPTO) issued patent number 10,000,000 today to Joseph Marron of Raytheon Company for “Coherent Ladar Using Intra-Pixel Quadrature Detection.” The technology has a wide variety of applications, including autonomous vehicles, medical imaging devices, military defense systems and space and undersea exploration.
